As in the case of the commands, the number of programs available in Linux is very large. Thus, we will follow the same strategy as with the commands, we will be using them only when needed. The most frequently used will be:
kate: the text editor
gcc: the C compiler
gdb: the debugger
valgrind: the memory leak detector.
soffice: program OpenOffice containing a word processor, spreadsheet, drawing program and presentation program.
